Ijora- Badia, a Lagos slum, will soon wear a new look as the  Lagos State government is set to construct 1,008 modern housing units under a home ownership scheme for the area. Housing Commissioner Mr  Bosun Jeje told a stakeholders’meeting with residents of Badia East at the National Theatre Complex in Lagos that the proposed houses were part of the government’s effort in transforming Lagos into a mega city. How can quacks be stopped from the surveying profession? It is by registering more qualified surveyors and valuers, Estate Surveyor and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON), says Mr. Ayodele Sangosanya, chairman. He spoke this at the 32nd induction for new estate surveyors in Lagos, last weekend. Sangosanya said the institute was collaborating with some law enforcement agencies to check pseudo-practice and said the board had taken to court some quacks who did not heed its warning. The Lagos State Government  is  constructing an estate at  Agbowa in Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the state to accommodate evacuees from blighted areas.
