Nigeria Hits CNN's List of World’s 12 sexiest accents.... NAIJA INTEL

In the unending pursuit of love, or its less eternal surrogate, the right accent can be as attractive as bright eyes, a beaming smile and a parabolic backside. For world travelers, a far-flung tongue promises the unknown, confirms the known and dispels the thought-we-knew. But no accent is sexy when it’s strong enough to crush a beer can. Which means not all accents are created equal. It’s estimated that there are nearly 7,000 languages on earth. That’s nearly 7,000 different ways to traipse clumsily through the English language — or to sex it up like a Justin Timberlake song wrapped…

Nigeria, others to re-evaluate Trans-Saharan gas project... NAIJA INTEL

Nigeria and other stakeholders in the multi-billion dollar Trans-Saharan gas pipeline project have decided to re-evaluate the commercial viability of the project, Group Executive Director, Gas and Power, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. David Ige, has said. He said this became necessary considering market changes that have taken place since its conception over a decade ago. The Trans-Saharan project, estimated at over $12 billion, was conceived in 2002 by the Presidents of Nigeria, Niger and Algeria with the support of former president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki. The project was endorsed in furtherance of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD)….

Cassava takes pride place in Nigeria’s agro-economy... NAIJA INTEL

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), has rightly pointed out that cassava has huge potential and could turn from being a poor people’s food into a 21st century crop. The Rome-based FAO said in a report that global cassava output has increased by 60 per cent since 2000 and that yields could be boosted by up to 400 per cent. It is with this in mind that experts in Nigeria’s agro business have said that the volume of cassava produce in the country is enough to make the country less dependent on crude oil as its major revenue earner….

Amazing maize on menu list

Amazing maize on menu list.. NAIJA INTEL

The sweet aroma of roasted and/or boiled corn has come again. It is in the air in most of the street corners, and every lover of sweet corn or maize is ready to go for the cob and make a feast of its richness. Some call it the ‘mouth organ’. Of course, once the preferred choice is selected, regardless of where the consumer is, the cob makes the mouth straight on. And some others, who may not want it roasted or boiled, simply turn the corn or maize into various forms to make delicious meals. There is hardly any part of…

FG to use space technology to enhance national development – Jonathan... NAIJA INTEL

Abuja- The Federal Government is rolling out plans to use space technology to enhance national security, communication, industrialisation and sustained socio-economic development. President Goodluck Jonathan made this known on Tuesday when he inaugurated a 13-member National Space Council (NSC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said that given the critical place of space technology in national security, communication, industrialisation and sustained socio-economic development, the need to properly structure and drive the national space programme could not be over-emphasised. “This informs why our administration has constituted this council with high calibre membership. “We must evolve clear cut initiatives that will not only fast-track our industrialisation process,…
