The Federal Government yesterday stopped all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) from forwarding any project variation and review that is above 15 per cent of its initial cost. The measure, which was a fallout of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting yesterday, presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House, is intended to check fraud in the system. Briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, explained that by the decision, MDAs would be required to do their jobs thoroughly through proper planning and cost evaluation before awarding the contract.
